Introduction & Course Goals
This is an introductory course to statistics. It will cover the descriptive statistical methods, random variables, the probability concepts and distributions, sampling distributions, and estimation. Topics include graphical methods for presenting data, measures of central tendency, dispersion, and a host of other statistical topics. The student is expected to spend time studying to get a good grasp on the main statistical concepts, and practice by solving problems. This will enable him/her to be a practitioner or to have a foundation for more advanced courses.

    4. Content (Tentative Schedule)

    Semester's home work

    There will be a number of computer cases assignments (schedule) (done by team of 4 at maximum and 3 at minimum) assignments (schedule). Each student is expected to work on solving these cases, and to learn how to use the Excel spreadsheet. All cases will be due at the date shown. Each team should submit only one copy during the class hours not before and not after. To avoid losing points, each copy should be well identified by the name of each student, student Number, list class number and section number.

    Final Exam (Comprehensive)

    The Mid-term and final exams will be closed book and notes. You will be allowed to bring in a 1-2 formula pages to the exams. The Final Exam will be comprehensive.
